Prof. Paul Quinn will be a featured speaker at the upcoming AISym4MED final event, "Trustworthy AI for Healthcare: From Research to Policy", scheduled for October 15, 2026, at TownHall Europe in Brussels.
AISym4MED addresses a major challenge for healthcare AI: enabling the use of high-quality health data for research and AI development while protecting privacy and supporting trustworthy, clinically meaningful applications. Over the past four years, the project has developed a platform bringing together synthetic data generation, federated technologies, privacy-preserving mechanisms, and data and model auditing, with its solutions validated through clinical use cases.
In the afternoon, Prof. Paul Quinn will participate in a multidisciplinary panel titled “Building Clinically Meaningful AI: Legal and Ethical Challenges Around Data, Evidence and Accountability”. The discussion will explore the intricate trade-offs between strict data protection and clinical utility, examining how synthetic data and secure processing environments can preserve patient privacy without compromising the accuracy, fairness, and reproducibility needed for medical science.
