On 6-7 October 2026, the consortium of MAGENDA, a three-year Erasmus+ project, gathered in Mymensingh, Bangladesh, for its annual meeting at the end of the project’s second year. Partners reviewed progress across all work packages, shared lessons from the activities carried out so far, and jointly planned the remaining work. Over the past year, VUB-HALL successfully led and completed WP1, which supported the development of Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) at six partner universities in Nepal and Bangladesh. Building on this, the discussions focused on turning these plans into practice and keeping their implementation on track. The meeting was also covered by the Bangladeshi television channel Channel i (see the video).
Alongside the meeting, the consortium had the pleasure of visiting the campuses of our three Bangladeshi partners in Mymensingh and Dhaka: Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU). During the visits, we met the MAGENDA student ambassadors, learned about campus facilities and learning environments, and witnessed the opening of the SAU MAGENDA Hub. We warmly thank the BOU team for their generous hospitality and careful organisation. We look forward to continuing our close cooperation and sharing European experience in the year ahead.
