Are Belgian hospitals ready for EHDS?
How prepared are Belgian hospitals for the secondary use of health data under the European Health Data Space (EHDS)? This HELT Talk will draw on the EHDS Readiness Survey conducted with Belgian hospitals to explore current practices, readiness gaps and the support hospitals need to move forward. The survey combines EHDS readiness and data maturity perspectives, covering governance, data quality, metadata, interoperability, security, skills and organisational capabilities.
Following a short presentation of the survey and its findings, participants will take part in a small interactive workshop. Together, we will discuss how the issues identified translate into practical challenges for hospitals, which actions should be prioritised and where shared approaches or support from the wider ecosystem could help. The discussion will connect legal and governance considerations with the operational realities of preparing data for secondary use.
