We are excited to announce that three of HALL researchers—Danaja Fabcic Povse, Oguzhan Yesiltuna, and Wenkai Li—will be presenting their work at the upcoming European Association of Health Law (EAHL) Young Scholars Workshop. The event, organized by EAHL, brings together emerging scholars to discuss pressing legal and regulatory challenges in Europe.
Presentations and Research Topics:
Danaja Fabcic Povse will present her research on “In Search of the Optimal Regulation of Evidence-Based Policy-Making in the European Commission’s Provision of Legislative Proposal.” Her work examines how the European Commission can refine its legislative processes to better incorporate empirical evidence, ensuring more effective and transparent policymaking.
Oguzhan Yesiltuna will explore “Cybersecurity Incident Reporting for AI Medical Devices: Stacking Up the MDR, GDPR, NIS2 and the AI Act.” His presentation delves into the complex regulatory landscape governing AI-driven medical devices, analyzing how overlapping frameworks can be harmonized to enhance cybersecurity and patient safety.
Wenkai Li will discuss “The Secondary Use of Health Data for Scientific Research in the EU: Addressing Data Harms in the Era of Data Space.” His research critically assesses the ethical and legal challenges of reusing health data for research, proposing safeguards to mitigate risks while fostering innovation in European health data spaces.
This workshop provides an excellent platform for early-career scholars to engage with peers, receive feedback, and contribute to ongoing legal and policy debates. We congratulate Danaja, Oguzhan, and Wenkai on this opportunity and look forward to the insights they will bring back to our team.
