
During the first semester of this academic year, 2019, HALL members give a series of lectures at the VUB Faculty of Health. Audrey van Scharen, HALL member and a member of an educational team at the VUB Faculty of Health invited some HALL members to give guest lectures in her different courses on ethics. As part of the course ‘Ethics in research’ for the Research Master in Gerontology Sciences, Sara Roda gave lectures on ‘Privacy in research’ and ‘Practical cases on data protection in research’, Gianclaudio Malgieri presented the topic “Vulnerable persons in research”. Eugenio Mantovani in cooperation with the University of Technology Eindhoven will share the expertise in the ‘TECH care project - MOODLES in ethics education’. As the part of ‘Bioethics course’ for the Master in Biomedical Sciences, István Böröcz gave two lectures on ‘Transhumanism’. The HALL team also invites everyone interested in Ethics issues such as ‘CRISPR and Gene editing’, ‘Cryopreservation’, ‘Mandatory vaccination’ to participate in open debates moderated by VUB students and hosted by the Audrey van Scharen (see the upcoming events section).
