On 16-17 March, HALL members Prof. Paul Quinn and Ruoxin Su attended the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project MAGENDA (MAinstreaming GENDer equality in Academia) in Pokhara, Nepal. The MAGENDA project aims to support Asian higher education institutions in introducing and enforcing policies that promote gender equality at the institutional level, through the transfer of ‘know-how’ in establishing and implementing Gender Equality Plans (GEP). The MAGENDA project will be implemented in two least-developed Asian countries, Bangladesh and Nepal. It brings together six Asian universities, two universities and two research organisations from the EU. VUB-HALL leads WP1 “Setting the ground for institutional change”, aiming to introduce the concept of GEPs and exchange on best practices regarding implementation and monitoring of GEPs at HEIs in Nepal and Bangladesh. VUB-HALL is responsible for enhancing GEPs at institutional level (T1.2), as well as for developing a GEP handbook for Asian HEIs (T1.3).
