The FACILITATE project concluded on 4–5 June 2026 with its final General Assembly, “Looking to the Future,” held at the Fondazione Collegio San Carlo in Modena, Italy. Bringing together policymakers, patient organisations, researchers, industry representatives and digital health experts, the event reflected on the project's work and its implications for the future of clinical research in Europe.
FACILITATE has worked towards establishing a framework for the Return of Individual Participant Data (RoIPD), exploring how participants in clinical trials can have greater access to and benefit from the data generated through their participation. VUB-HALL contributed its expertise in legal and ethical aspects as a project partner and work package leader. The project's closing event marked the conclusion of this collaborative effort while highlighting the importance of continuing to develop more participant-centred approaches to clinical research.
