ABOUT US
The Health and Aging Law Lab (HALL) is a team of researchers who are specialised in themes linked to matters of health and ageing. In particular, its members conduct research in multi-disciplinary areas such as privacy and data protection; use of advanced technologies in healthcare, pharmaceutical development and research; e-Health and m-Health; healthy ageing. HALL aims to explore synergies between these researchers and as a result provide for a co-ordinated research focus and output.
The group is chaired by Professor Paul Quinn who has expertise in the use of health data in the health care setting, in matters of public health and in innovative research involving big data. The group has been successful in participating in a number of the EU H2020 projects (FASTER, PROTEIN, TECHCARE, PERSONA, VALUE-AGEING, PICASO) aimed to develop the solutions for the health and ageing issues. HALL researches provide their legal expertise to the projects and thus contribute to the state of the art in these areas.
The group has an interdisciplinary focus and enjoys collaboration with health care professionals (including at the University Hospital, Brussels (UZ Brussel), with research scientists, software engineers and a range of societal actors.
